Kirkegaard South LLC is a minority-owned firm based in Houston, Texas owned and operated by Anthony Shou. Working in collaboration with Kirkegaard colleagues, KSouth provides architectural acoustic consulting for projects that go beyond the arts focusing on making good acoustics accessible to everyone. We are a small firm with a long history.
- In 2001, Anthony joined Kirkegaard but started as summer intern a year earlier and worked his way to principal consultant.
- He started Kirkegaard’s Houston office in 2016.
- The Houston office doubled in size in 2018 with Kaitlyn Hunt.
- The office continued to grow to 3 employees with the addition of Justin Yau in 2019.
- Kirkegaard South LLC (KSouth) was formed in 2019 with the idea of establishing roots in Houston.
- KSouth began operating as an independent business in 2020.
- KSouth received HUB Certification summer 2022 with the encouragement from architects.
- We are committed to Texas and have redoubled the number of Houston staff to 4 with the addition of Theo Pratto in 2023.

Sound Design for Communities
We see our role as a curator of sound in spaces to strengthen human connections and to promote new, shared experiences. We internalize the project teams’ multi-faceted goals and aspirations. Our efforts then focus on developing thoughtful acoustical design that is scaled to the project and reflects the goals.
